Some years ago, an internationally interesting experiment on language immersion was started in Pietarsaari, where Swedish-speaking children are exceptionally immersed in Finnish, the language with the majority status.The objective of this language immerssion is functional bilingualism. which naturally emphasises the ability to communicate in all teaching situations.
