The focus of this study is the religiosity given expression in Mirjam Tuominen's book Gud är närvarande (God is Present), 1961 (her last book to be published). The preliminary title of the study is What the silence said.An interpretation of the psychology of religion expressed in Mirjam Tuominen's work Gud är närvarande (1961).The task is to describe the textimmanent representations of religion such as these are reflected in language and in description of counterparts, qualities and strivings within a religious dimension of experience.Interpretation is done with the help of a psychoanalytically oriented, integrated object-relations perspective, which, together with concepts from within the study of religion (e.g. classical Christian mysticism), is thought to give tentative formulation and interpretation. The effort is to arrive at an understanding of the psychology of the thrust in the "God of Presence", and of the human implications in terms of presuppositions and functions connected with this.
