- The material of my study is based on a longitudinally collected test material and composition corpus.The material was collected during the years 1991, 1993 and 1995 from comprehensive school pupils in Korsholm.The purpose of my study was to examine the pupils discourse competence in Finnish, particularly the development of their skills in reporting and debate.The following dimensions of linguistic facilities are studied and compared for both types of discourse. - lexical wealth/variation - morphological wealth/variation - syntactic wealth/variation - types and frequencies of mistakes The results are compared with native L1 learners.
